When we launched Novinect in February, we were transparent about something: the system ran on unofficial WhatsApp infrastructure. It worked. Agencies were using it. But we always planned to move to the official Meta WhatsApp Cloud API. That move is happening now.
Why Official Matters
There are three categories of WhatsApp automation tools in the market right now.
The first category is browser-based scrapers. These tools automate WhatsApp Web by simulating clicks and keystrokes. They break constantly, they violate WhatsApp's terms of service, and your number can be banned at any time with no recourse. If you have used one of these tools, you know the frustration.
The second category is unofficial API libraries. These are more sophisticated, using reverse-engineered protocols to connect to WhatsApp's servers directly. They are more reliable than browser scrapers, but they still operate outside Meta's official infrastructure. Number bans are less common but still a real risk. This is where Novinect was.
The third category is the official Meta WhatsApp Cloud API. This is Meta's own infrastructure, provided through their business platform. Your number is registered officially. Your messages are delivered through Meta's servers. There is no risk of being banned for using the platform itself. This is where Novinect is going.
What Changes for Clients
Better reliability. Official infrastructure means official uptime guarantees and Meta's own engineering team maintaining the messaging pipeline.
No ban risk. Your business WhatsApp number is registered with Meta as a legitimate business account. No more worrying about waking up to a banned number.
Coexistence. This is a feature most people do not know about. With the official API through our setup, you can keep your personal WhatsApp active on the same number. Your business automation runs on the API while you continue using your phone normally.
Future features. Meta is building new business features — product catalogs, payment integration, interactive message templates — exclusively for official API users. By being on the official infrastructure, Novinect clients get access to these features as they launch.
What It Takes
Moving to official infrastructure is not just a technical switch. Novic Technologies is applying to become a Meta Tech Provider. This means Meta verifies our company, our infrastructure, and our compliance with their platform policies.
We have submitted our application with our Certificate of Incorporation, our registered office documentation, and our URA tax registration. The process takes time — business verification followed by Tech Provider review — but we are on track.
When approved, Novinect will be one of the few WhatsApp automation platforms in East Africa operating on fully official infrastructure.
This is not just a technical upgrade. It is a trust signal that matters to every business considering putting their customer communication on our platform.
